Why should I choose Willow Tree Counseling Center instead of another provider?

Finding the best counselor for your child, yourself, and/or your family can be a daunting and at times a frustrating process.

Just like when you are looking for a primary care doctor for your child, you have the choice of selecting either a general practitioner or pediatrician. The general practitioner can provide services to a wide variety of people, and the pediatrician specializes in working with children.

Willow Tree Counseling Center prides itself on the expert, specialty care provided for children and young adults aged 3-30 years old.

Do you offer medication (psychiatry) services for children?

Yes!  Dr. Angela Brantley is a Board Certified Child, Teen and Adult psychiatrist and is a part of our team at Willow Tree Counseling Center.  She is available for telehealth appointments on Tuesdays and Fridays.  If you are interested in learning more, please fill out the contact us form or call 240-308-7171.

How can I pay for services?

Willow Tree Counseling Center offers several payment options for your convenience. You can pay with cash, check, credit card, or PayPal. Flexible spending accounts also are accepted.

Can I use my insurance?

It is sometimes possible.

Willow Tree Counseling Center is an out-of-network provider and/or fee-for-service.

We are happy to provide you with statements/invoices that many insurance companies require for out-of-network reimbursement. And if you are denied coverage, we can fill out the necessary forms required by the provider for processing appeals.

If you are contacting your provider to see about coverage for out-of-network providers, ask the following:

  • How many sessions are covered?
  • Do I have to meet my deductible first? Is there an out-of-pocket max?
  • Do they require a treatment plan or detailed summary for reimbursement?
  • What are the qualifications required of the practitioner?
  • What information do they need from the therapist?
Why doesn’t Willow Tree participate with insurance?

Did you know that insurance companies only pay for things that are “medically necessary”?

This means that someone must diagnose you or your child with a mental health disorder AND prove that it is impacting your or your child’s health on a day-to-day basis.

Many of life’s problems are not mental health disorders, which is especially true for children and teens.

Insurance companies require treatment plans, progress reports, and many other types of personal information to determine what, if anything, they will cover.

These details about your treatment should be private, but instead they are open and available to anyone with access, including potential employers. While being processed, the average insurance claim passes through 14 people.
